Placenta: predicting future health

HRH Crown Princess Mette-Marit,
patron of  IFPA - 14th European Placenta Group Meeting

Welcome to join world’s leading placenta researchers at Geilo in Norway from the 14th to 17th September 2011. This meeting is organized by the International Federation of Placenta Associations (IFPA) in association with the European Placenta Group (EPG).

The venue will be at Geilo, a mountain resort between Oslo, the capital of Norway and the breath-taking West coast fiords. The venue will facilitate close collaboration and get-together opportunities, with all participants staying at the conference hotel. Spa and swimming pool and close vicinity to scenic mountain areas, as well as a variety of social events, enables relaxing breaks in-between a compact scientific programme at the forefront of placenta research.

The theme of the 2011-meeting is: Placenta: predicting future health. This meeting will include sessions covering epidemiological aspects of placenta disease and effects on future maternal and offspring health, as well as a wide range of basic and applied research topics. Special attention will be given to the new investigators, representing the future for Placenta research. New investigators are invited to co-chair sessions and contribute to the meeting program, in addition to contribute to the meeting’s oral presentations. We hope to recruit many future placenta group leaders, and are offering reduced conference fees for new investigators.

The number of conference places will be limited to 330 so you are advised to register early to make sure you do not miss this very special occasion; the first Placenta meeting ever in Norway.

We are looking forward to seeing you at Geilo!

Best wishes from Anne Cathrine Staff (Head of organization committee) and Colin Sibley (President of IFPA)
