The Scientific Committee has now started their work evaluating the submitted session proposals. The deadline for submitting session proposals was 31st of January, and approximately 80 sessions have been submitted. The abstracts are generally of very high quality and cover all of the six session themes, but there is a majority of sessions related to the session theme “Interpreting the archaeological record”. The Scientific Committee is currently occupied assessing the submitted abstracts, and given the quality and number of the proposed sessions it will be quite a difficult task to narrow down or merge 80 session to a number of approximately 55, which is the capacity of the conference facilities. The session organisers will be notified about the acceptance of proposed sessions as soon as possible. By 1st of March, at the latest, the paper and poster abstract submission for the accepted sessions will open.
